I know lots of you are checking the blog for the updates on Kyra. Her temperature is still holding steady at 99.5F so no sign of the actual labor as yet. I am taking her temp every few hours and as soon as it goes down to at least 98.5F, the waiting gets exciting and she will probably start her labor within 12 – 24 hours. I have wished for today’s birth day for the pups, because it is Frank and mine 26th anniversary, but she will have her pups on her own time! She is as round as a ball, puppies are moving around. She is eating and not felling uncomfortable yet. She is still walking around with the stuffed toy, wagging her tail.
We set up.. OK, Frank set up the whelp box and I went shopping to Wall Mart yesterday and brought tons of towels, baby receiving blankets and of course 16 colors of rick-rack, which we use to id the pups with. They had lots of colors in JoAnne’s (US sewing supply and material store) so I stocked up on that and some fleecy fabric for blankets, Tula’s litter is also coming…

Here is the mattress set up for her labor and then we move her and the pups into the whelp box. Our girls do not like to whelp in the box, but in this cozy place that I set up with lots of blankets and towels. Also picture for you of the table with all the stuff – scales, rick rack, gloves and surgical supplies, including stethoscope to listen for any heart beat at the end of the labor to make sure all were born. The last is the whelp box that by this weekend will hold our precious miracles.

We wish you all Happy Easter, lots of chocolate eggs and bunnies and mainly some nice weather! No more snow! We are celebrating Easter Sunday with Keepir – Toldin’s True To Tradition – the newest addition to our Toldin gang, who lives in TN, but came to stay with us for a while. He is out of Kyra and Ripley. He is such a sunny, happy, kissy boy! He even likes his nails cut! (These pictures were taken before his pedicure). He is now 4 months old and full of it, of course. He was Mr. Red, the most laid-back and lazy puppy – WELL……. he is NOT that any more! You should see him zoom around the dinning room table! We learned he can jump REALLY high, almost on the counter and deffinately on the table. LOL Frank and I will have our work cut out for us in the next few weeks to teach him some more manners – he does free stack on the dime already, so that will help with show training. Here is Keepir, sending kisses to his brothers and sisters! Ziva, Figo, Bajnok, Remy and Lynde!
